I'm a proud man with Torres Strait Islander and German heritage and I was born and raised on the Gold Coast, QLD.
From a young age I always felt slightly displaced, and I didn't really understand why. I was fortunate enough to have an outlet to express myself. It was music. Once I left school, music was kind of put on the backburner and I followed an amazing career path that led me to supporting people in child protection, disability, youth and students, older Australians, employment and education and mental health.
Despite all the incredible lessons I learnt over my career, nothing compares to the journey of self-discovery. I now understand why I had feelings of displacement in my younger years. I grew up 'outside the box' as a Gay Torres Strait Islander-German. To me though, this was a blessing.
To live life authentically, and to find power within your uniqueness is what I call success.
After meeting the love of my life, Monte (Son Jnr), a proud Māori man from Aotearoa, he brought the music out of me again and we've had an incredible journey and epic love story (as told on the Big Tinder Wedding - Tinder Australia). My life has blossomed, and I have found my purpose and I'm passionate to support people to achieve their dreams and express themselves through creative avenues. This also includes helping to support the world around us to provide safe opportunities.
Pawa - The surname of my husband, the surname I now share, my biggest supporter.
Haus - German for 'house' and a reference to my German heritage that's present alongside my Torres Strait Islander heritage.
Creative - The space in the world where I believe people can inspire change, express themselves. Creativity holds power and connects us to the earliest form of communication.
Our values are led with culture first. We then work closely with others to understand their purpose and goals and we support them to reach their goals by offering our expertise in music and cultural intelligence.
At Pawa Hause Creative, our vision is to empower and uplift BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour) creatives and professionals within the music industry. We strive to create an inclusive and supportive space where their voices, talents, and contributions are celebrated.
